Nearly 500 staff members, faculty, and retired senior educators from Heung To Middle School, Heung To Middle School (Tin Shui Wai), Heung To Secondary School (Tseung Kwan O), and Heung To College of Professional Studies gathered together for a grand 38-table banquet to celebrate the anniversary of the motherland.

The ceremony commenced with the solemn singing of the National Anthem. In his address, Dr. Wong Chung-leung, Principal of Heung To Middle School, first welcomed all guests and colleagues on behalf of the organisation. He extended his highest respects to the schools and staff who have long cultivated the cause of patriotic education in Hong Kong.

He noted that the past year held profound significance, as Heung To Middle School successfully completed a series of events celebrating its 80th anniversary. This milestone consolidated the dedication of all current staff and predecessors, reflecting Heung To’s spirit of passing the torch and marching forward in unity.

Reflecting on the motherland's 77 years of glorious progress, he highlighted its transformation from poverty to the world’s second-largest economy—spanning achievements from the "Two Bombs and One Satellite" project to manned spaceflight, lunar exploration, the complete victory in poverty alleviation, and rapid daily advances in scientific innovation. The Chinese nation has achieved a monumental leap from standing up and becoming prosperous to growing strong.

He emphasized that the prosperity and stability of the country serve as the solid foundation for Hong Kong’s prosperity and its education sector. This year marks the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan," during which the Hong Kong SAR Government released its first five-year development plan, and next year will mark the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland. He encouraged all colleagues to shoulder their educational mission of nurturing the next generation to love both the country and Hong Kong, possessing deep national pride and a global perspective.

Following the speech, the officiating guests took to the stage to preside over the launch ceremony. Accompanied by the lighting of electronic balloons and the presentation of a celebratory cake, the entire hall raised their glasses in a toast, wishing prosperity to the nation and stability to Hong Kong.

During the banquet, the "Yeung Yiu-chung Heung To Award Fund for Outstanding Staff of the Year 2025/26" was presented.
