In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the 77th National Day, as well as the 105th Anniversary of Sik Sik Yuen, our school's Huashang Society took 31 students to the "Universal Relief for Hong Kong" Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival held at Wong Tai Sin Temple.
Wong Tai Sin Temple stands as one of Hong Kong's most iconic heritage landmarks, with the Wong Tai Sin Belief and Customs recognized as an intangible cultural heritage. During their visit, students dressed in elegant traditional Chinese attire while admiring the lantern displays. The vivid garments harmonized beautifully with the historic temple architecture and glowing lantern reflections, creating a captivating scene.
This activity offered students a firsthand look at traditional lantern craftsmanship and traditional customs. By immersing themselves in the festive atmosphere, students gained a deeper appreciation for Hong Kong's local folk culture and enduring traditions.
