Our school’s String Orchestra participated in the Joint School Music Competition 2026 (Secondary Division) with the piece Strings of Fire, proudly achieving the Gold Award.

Adjudicators praised the ensemble for its precise technique, stable tuning in violin and cello melodies, and refined overall performance with distinct musical layers.

This marks the orchestra’s first-ever Gold Award since its establishment — a remarkable milestone that adds brilliance to the school’s 80th anniversary celebration.
Now entering its ninth year, the orchestra earned an outstanding score of 90, thanks to members’ dedicated preparation and deep familiarity with the score. The adjudicators also commended the ensemble for its unified bowing, musical teamwork, and expressive performance.
